In our Nation’s capital, where an estimated 1 in 20 persons are possibly infected by HIV and AIDS, BBSSU (a cycling club), two AIDS-related organizations, bicyclists throughout the Washington, DC metropolitan area and across the country, and volunteers will come together to fight 40 miles of hills and city streets to help make a difference in the lives of men, women, children and families affected or infected with HIV/AIDS! |
The One Day One Ride One Cause Charity Bike Ride, a 1-day, 40-mile charity ride through the neighborhoods of the District of Columbia, will:
- Bring awareness to the community that the District holds the record for newly-diagnosed HIV/AIDS cases in the United States;
- Educate the community in preventing the spread of the disease; and
- Raise funds for HIV/AIDS organizations that provide care and services to children, teens, and adults infected with and/or impacted by HIV/AIDS.
